The 2012 Clevelander Survey is now closed.
Over 1,200 Clevelanders took the survey. Results will be made available September 28, 2012.
In addition to results being made available to the general public (in executive summary form), each participant has the option to receive a personal report, explaining what kind of Clevelander they are. All data will remain anonymous.

It would be nice if there was a N/A option for some questions.
GREAT IDEA!!

Thanks Sam! We appreciate the support. We actually made a few minor updates and included N/A on questions we felt it was appropriate, thanks for the recommendation.

Good start, keep adding to it.

Cleveland is a compact city with evefrything you want being no farther than 20-30 minutes away. Unlike many other cities, it still has neighborhoods where you can walk around and not need a car to get around.

This is a good start. Some questions are not quite seattd so they mean something to everybody or can be answered truthfully. Maybe tweaking it for the next time would be a good idea. One example: many (?most) people have attended college at a couple different schools. One of mine was in Cleveland but one was not.

Great suggestion, we will include this for next year. We didn’t want to change the question after the survey launched as it would affect the results for other people that have already taken the survey. But thank you so much!

Enjoyed this quick peek at Clevelanders, and would like to see more in-depth view to showcase our asset of being resilient and sustainable here as a people, place, and community!!

Survey wise, I like that it’s all on one page.
Would like to see more Input options for Where in Cleveland one lives.

Some of the questions about where one lives is tricky for a college student to answer. We are a pretty big contingent downtown, and I’d love to see a survey particular to us. Can’t wait to see the results!

Another good question to ask is, if people would ever consider relocating, where would they go?

Good beginning of a comprehensive survey. Although, I’d add questions about Cleveland’s ethnic diversity (is it good for immigrants; is the cultural diversity a drawback or added incentive, if so, why?) Also questions about Cleveland’s support/or lack thereof, for the LGBT population/issues.

I’m surprised the lists of businesses and organizations were so short. I’d like to see respondents’ answers to “other” used to expand the lists.

I have already submitted my suggestions for an improved survey. I note that some of the earlier commenters have already pointed out some of the problems. I hope that my comments will be taken in a spirit of “trying to help” rather than merely in one of criticism–I think polling Clevelanders is an excellent idea, and I would just like it to be done carefully so that everyone who responds to this kind of survey can do it most accurately and the information is easier to compile and share.

Your suggestions will absolutely be used. We didn’t want to change the question after the survey launched as it would affect the results for other people that have already taken the survey.
